Garito Manor

New Rochelle, NY

This project features a combination of environmental and economic sensitivity in structural design. The structure is composed of multi-story prefabricated steel-framed modular townhouses set over a site-erected steel transfer structure with a cast-in-place concrete foundation. The extensive use of prefabricated modular units significantly reduced construction costs, allowing this project to be offered as "affordable" housing. The concrete used was modified to contain a higher recycled content, and the steel framing also contained a naturally high recycled content.
