Hugh O'Neill Building
655 Sixth Avenue
New York, NY
This project entailed the conversion of the landmark Hugh O’Neill building originally constructed in 1890. The existing structure was built of heavy timber construction supported on cast-iron columns. This 5-story building has served many purposes from the beginning; opening as a dry goods store, it was later transformed into manufacturing space in the 1920’s and eventually into office space. Today it has been converted into residential space, with a 2-story addition.
